Alexis Blanchard and Marie Pitre, his wife, disembarked at St. Malo on January
23, 1759 from one of the "Five ships". Immediately after disembarkation, they
were hospitalized at Hotel-Dieu of St. Malo, where their daughter, Nicole was
born. No member of this family survived.

George left Kentucky in 1830 to come to Monroe county and later exhibit
Easter Cloud as the first Missouri winner of the $10,000 World's Grand
Champion Stallion award at the Kentucky State Fair.
The tradition he started was carried on by his son Hiram, who moved to a farm
south of Lakenan, MO, where his grandson and greatgrandsons still raise and
show prize winning horses. The farm is now known as Broadacres. See Wel
Greenwell.
His death records are from "Greenwell-Little-Donnally-Hardy" by A. Loui

sheep to Halifax to supply the expedition of the Duc d'Anville, who in 1746
tried to take Acadia in the name of france. The attempt failed and Joseph was
never paid.

He was raised by his grandmother, Loretta, along with this brother & sister.
He spent several years in a Catholic boarding school in San Francisco.
When he left school, he went to live with his father in Los Angeles.
He joined the Army Air Force during WWII. His training took place in Miss.
where he met Katherine. After they were married, he was transferred to England,
where he served with the Royal Air Force. He was an aircraft mechanic.
The English weather proved too damp for him. The damp made his asthma worse, he
was discharged from the army on a medical discharge. After the war, he and
Katherine moved to Hemet to live with an old friend. He worked as a farmer, a
diesel locomotive mechanic for Santa Fe Railroad. He later worked for the USMC
Logistics Supply Depot in Dagget. He worked in small arms repair, motor pool
repair and toward the end of his career, he was an inspector at Yermo.
He was a heavy smoker and used developed emphasema at the age of about 60.
He died of asphixiaton at home.

He was the first Arsenault from Acadia and was one of the regional navigators in the Rochefort region. He arrived in from LaRochelle, France in the spring of 1671 on the ship Oranger. Came along with Jacques
Bougeois. Pierre, along with Jacques Bougeois founded the colony of
Bourgeois, which became Beaubassin. He moved there in 1687 with his family. He worked as a boat captain for M. Bougeois, and was occupied mostly with the transport of goods and colonists between Port Royal and Beaubassin.

Hiram was elected to the National Saddle Horse Hall of Fame in 1964. Who's Who
in Horsedom notes in its 1964 edition that the Greenwell family is the oldest
in America handling saddle horses continuously--a fact attested to by a family
line which shows George Washington Greenwell, father of the new Hall of Fame
member and grandfather of Welch, was a saddle horse breeder before his death and
burial in Georgetown, KY, in 1780--184 years ago.
