- Deceased Father Clarence J. d'Entremont's translation andinterpretationof the Acadian Census of 1678 was published in theFrench Canadian andAcadian Genealogical Review in Spring issue,Volume II, No. 1, 1979 onpages 47-66. (At the time, Fatherd'Entremont was living in Fairhaven, Massachusetts.)
Father d'Entremont correlated the census records and estimated thebirthdates of each child in this census. Father d'Entremont'sfootnotes as tothe origin of each child are quite extensive and couldnot be added tothis page though they will perhaps be added to anotherpage as an addendumto this information in the future. However, itshould be said that theyears that Father d'Entremont assigns to eachchild did not appear in theactual census but certainly facilitates anunderstanding of the censusitself.
He further ascertains that in comparing the census of 1671 to thecensusof 1686, that this census was possibly taken in the latter partof 1678,but more likely in the early part of 1679.
