"Samuel Harnden, from Wells, m. Esther Irish and settled at
the Corners, where he kept a public house for several years.
He was a boot and shoe maker and harness maker by trade, and subsequently removed to the Borough and worked at that business. He removed back to Wells, where he died. He is said to have been one of the best fiddlers in the State. We are told that he cured his wife of fits by fiddling, and was afterwards married. His children are Plym(n), now living in Lyons, Ohio, Rose, Joseph, drowned in Lake Erie; and Filena m. Seth P. Scott, of this town."
