Stanton, Daniel, Stonington, s. of the first Thomas, may first have liv. at Westerly 1669, by w. He seems to have shown his ability first in this kind 1637, when Stoughton, in his advice of Aug. on the first exped. ment. his serv. Perhaps a. 1658 he sett. at S. with w. And this is from Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut, Vol. I-IV

Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut: A Record of the Achievements of Her People in the Making of a Commonwealth and the Founding of a Nation. Volume IV

John Stanton , son of Robert and Avis Stanton , was born August, 1645 , married (first) Mary , daughter of John Harndel , in 1667 , and (second) Mrs. Mary Cranston , widow of Governor John Cranston and daughter of Governor Jeremiah Clarke . He was ancestor of the Hon. Edwin M. Stanton , secretary of war under President Lincoln . His son, John Stanton , born April 22, 1674 , by his first wife, Mary Harndell , married (second) Susanna Lamphere and was father of Sabra .
Stanton, Capt. John (I6903)

2843 This John Harington, of the eight generation after John of Lancaster,
lived in Stepney in the eastern section of London. He was born about
1525. He was know as ?The Poet? since he was one of the minor poets
of the Elizabethan Age. He also collected and published the writings
of other writers of that period.

John made a very profitable marriage to Ethelreda Dingley, an
illegitimate daughter of King Henry VIII, and secured from this
union the Manor of Kelston and four other manors in Somerset in
southwestern England. These properties had been taken from Bath
Priory and given to Ethelreda by her father, King Henry.

John supported his natural sister-in-law, Queen Elizabeth, and was
imprisoned for aiding her cause during the struggle for the throne
which followed King Henry?s death.

Ethelreda died about 1555 and John then married Isabella Marham,
daughter of Sir John Markham. He wooed her with love poems and
recorded his attraction toward her ?when first I thought her fair
as she stood at the Princess? window in goodly attire, and talked
with divers (persons) in the court yard?.

With Elizabeth on the throne and John?s position secured, he began
the building of one of the great manor houses of that day at Kelston
Manor.
Harrington, Sir John (I8096)

2844 This Richard Harnden is often accredited with being the father of the earliest known North American Harnden family lines.

Richard spent most of his life in Reading, Mass. However, for some years after his marriage, he is believed to have been living in Boston. By 1682 he was certainly back in Reading. According to newspaper articles in Wilmington, Massachusetts. He spent some time in Rhode Island giving greater creedance to the fact that Benjamin Hearnden and John Harndel were close relatives to our lines.

At one time Richard Harnden owned land from the Ipswich River at Jenkin's Bridge running north along Lubbers brook and what is now Woburn Street to Nod. (Jenkin's bridge is over the Ipswich River at Laurens Carter crossing - Woburn St. - Wilmington).

Richard took the Freeman's Oath on 18 April 1691.

This is an interesting source. I don't know where it actually belongs or if it even relates to our family. But, there seems to be a close relationship to the name and dates of our Richard.

The following is from The Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire:
